Built in 1806 by Matthew Houston, a cousin of Sam Houston, this remarkable estate holds a prominent place in local and regional history. Built along the original US Route 11, Forest Oaks has served as a stagecoach stop, tavern, family home and most recently as a popular B&B. Lovingly restored by its current owners, Forest Oaks offers a glimpse of a bygone era with its soaring entry hall, stunning woodwork and breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
